What music compatibility means on OneVib
Music compatibility is not a promise that two people will like each other. It is a practical signal that helps people find common ground faster.
Shared songs are strong signals
When two people choose the same song, it often means more than matching a broad genre. It can point to a specific memory, artist era, mood, or story worth asking about.
OneVib counts shared songs, songs at the same position in both lists, shared artists and shared genres. Five shared songs, or three at the same position, make a Top music fit; three shared songs, one at the same position, or two shared artists make a Strong music fit.
Similar taste still matters
Not every good connection shares the exact same track. One shared song, one shared artist or three shared genres are enough for a Connection, so people with related taste still find each other.
Songs are compared by main artist and title, so a featured artist, a missing "The" or "(Official Video)" in a title does not hide a match.
Stories make taste human
A song title alone can be useful, but a short story explains why the song belongs to someone. It can turn "I know that song" into "I understand why this song matters to you."
Stories are shown with the songs two people share, so they become a natural first question instead of a profile essay.
