Trivia Battle: solo practice, multiplayer rooms, and tournaments

Trivia Battle gives OneVib members a reason to play together, compare knowledge, and create moments that can restart a conversation. Solo and multiplayer are available with plan limits; tournaments are included with Premium and Premium+.

Solo mode

Solo mode is personal practice. A member chooses category, difficulty, and question count, then plays at their own pace. It is useful for learning the question style and sharing a personal result.

Solo is intentionally separate from competitive rooms. It can use the same question pools, but the pacing, scoring, and reveal behavior are different.

Multiplayer rooms

Multiplayer is a shared room. Invited players accept, enter the room, and wait for the start. When the room starts, everyone sees the same countdown, question, and room status.

Each player gets one answer attempt per question. A correct answer resolves the question for the room. Wrong answers do not reveal the correct answer immediately; they stay part of the round until the question is resolved.

Timeouts and fair winners

A question stays open for up to one minute. The game never pauses: a player who leaves or loses the connection can come back until someone answers a question they missed, then they are out. Players who stop answering are removed, so nobody can freeze the room.

There are no ties. A shared top score goes to up to five tie-breaker questions, and the first player to score again wins; after that, the faster player wins. If one active player remains with a non-zero leading score, that player wins.

Tournaments

Tournaments use the same competitive foundation but can have scheduled starts, seat limits, language, category, difficulty, and eligibility rules. Clear rules help players know what they are joining before they play.

A public rules page and clear in-room status help players know whether they are waiting, playing, timed out, or in a tie-breaker. A tournament only starts with enough players in the room; nobody wins one without playing.
